Tigers Continue Junior Development In Rural Areas;
'The Blade' Sharpens Up Skills With Issan Kids:

Bannongkom
As part of the Thailand Tiger's continuing commitment to football development in the country, a junior AFL clinic was recently held at Bannongkom School in the north-eastern province Nakhorn Ratchasima. The clinic was attended by 120 kids with ages ranging from 6 to 14 years, and was conducted by Tigers International coach Geoff 'Dog' Everett and Junior Development officer Brendan 'The Blade' Cunningham.

The Bannongkom students were put through a series of handball, kicking and marking drills before hitting the field for an open circle work session. Surprisingly, especially for kids who have never seen an oval ball before, the participants picked up the skills quite quickly with clean hands and lightning handballs. In fact, we even thought about bringing a few of them down to Patana to teach our rugby converts how to drop punt.
Overall, the clinic was a huge success and we look forward to promoting our great game further in Thailand.
